Athens, Greece, 8 February 2016 – Cyber, information, software and infrastructure security professionals now have access to (ISC)²® official training courses as the (ISC)2 Hellenic Chapter announced today that it has been appointed as an (ISC)² Official Training Provider (OTP). The chapter will be offering courses to support professionals interested in the gold-standard Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®) certification beginning in March. Interested professionals are invited to join the next chapter meeting at OTE Academy (Pelika & Spartis 1 – Marousi), 24th of February 2016.

The 2015 (ISC)2 Global Information Security Workforce Study forecasts a 1.5 million shortfall of information security professionals by 2020 as organisations face an increase in the volume and sophistication of threats and malware. Keeping best practices and procedures up to date with a constantly evolving threat landscape requires that professionals are committed to continually expanding their knowledge and expertise. The (ISC)² Hellenic Chapter, established in June 2015 and managed by a board of CISSP certified professionals, offers networking and educational evenings that are open to all students and professionals interested in the field. As an (ISC)² OTP, the chapter will enhance this support with regularly scheduled (ISC)² CBK® Training Seminars. The first courses are to cover the eight domains of the CISSP. All courses will be led by (ISC)²-certified members of the chapter who have gone through a qualification process to become an (ISC)2–Authorised Instructor.

“Having a formal certification is a great asset for all Greek and global professionals alike, given the growing demand for people in this field, ” says Kostas Papadatos, president of the (ISC)2 Hellenic Chapter. “Our aim is to offer competitive support from the existing professional community and to be able to cover the material within the context of practical experience and local relevance.”

“The initiative shown by our Hellenic Chapter serve to demonstrate the knowledge and experience of the (ISC)2 member community in Greece,” says Faisal Malik, Head of Business & Market Development (EMEA). “We look forward to supporting their efforts in developing professional programs and offering pathways to the recognition that certification delivers.”

(ISC)2 certifications confirm comprehensive professional knowledge and experience in the critical areas needed to develop and protect systems and data in current business environments. They also demonstrate a commitment to continuing education –helping professionals and their employers keep pace with ever changing requirements in managing cyber, information, software and infrastructure security. To become a certified member, candidates must pass an examination, be endorsed by another certified member of (ISC)² in good standing and subscribe to the organization’s Code of Ethics. Students have the opportunity to become an Associate of (ISC)² as they gain prerequisite work experience for an (ISC)2 certification. The CISSP certification requires five years of experience in two of the eight domains covered in the CISSP CBK.

The (ISC)2 Hellenic Chapter has scheduled the following class for March 2016:

Official (ISC)² CISSP CBK Training Seminar

· Date: 28/03/2016-01/04/2016

· Venue: OTE Academy, Pelika & Spartis 1, Marousi
