We are pleased to share highlights from our recent Cybersecurity Awareness Training for Parents, delivered by the ISC2 Hellenic Chapter at the Hellenic Air Force (HAF) Telecommunications and Electronics Depot (ETHM).

He also expressed his thanks for the practical guidance shared during the session and emphasized the value of continuing this collaboration in the future.

Ethelontoume “Parents and School Bullying” workshop
Last week, we had the honor of collaborating with Ethelontoume in a meaningful and impactful event dedicated to raising awareness around school bullying and empowering both parents and students.
The interactive workshop “Parents and School Bullying – Strengthening Our Voice, Saying No to Violence” was held on 19 November 2025 at the 4th Gymnasium of Agia Paraskevi, as part of the International Day Against School Violence and Bullying.

🌍 SEEIC 2025 was an absolute success! Hosted by JOIST Innovation Park in Larissa, Greece, from October 31st to November 1st, the event brought together startups, researchers, and entrepreneurs from across Southeastern Europe for two inspiring days of innovation and collaboration.
Representing us as a mentor, Anastasios Arampatzis, ISC2 Hellenic Chapter Member and Cybersecurity Content Creator & Strategist, guided emerging startups during the Innovation Sprint Hackathon – Startups Mentoring Sessions: “From Vision to Investor-Ready.”
Through one-on-one sessions, Anastasios helped teams refine their strategies, strengthen their value propositions, and sharpen their pitching proposals with insights from real-world experience.
The event proved to be an excellent opportunity for networking with innovative startups across AgriFood, Logistics, and Cybersecurity, fostering collaboration and cross-sector inspiration.

Cybersecurity Awareness for Kids in Patras
🎓 As we casually do, we have some older news to share, but an initiative we are just as proud of!
On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, our Member Dimosthenis Atteia, IT & CyberSecurity Manager at Flour Mills Kepenos SA (ΜΥΛΟΙ ΚΕΠΕΝΟΥ Α.Β.Ε.Ε.), delivered a valuable awareness session at the 44th Primary School of Patras.
This initiative, part of ISC2 Hellenic Chapter’s continuous mission to promote cybersecurity through education and social contribution, focused on empowering students with the knowledge they need for a safer digital future.
Through an engaging, practical, and interactive presentation, the 5th and 6th graders learned about:
🔹 Protecting personal data
🔹 Risks of social networks
🔹 Identifying and responding to cyberbullying
🔹 Responsible and safe online behavior
🔹 Building healthy digital habits from a young age

Last Friday, May 9, the ISC2 Hellenic Chapter hosted its Spring Update 2025 for the first time on a Friday evening. And what a fantastic evening it was!

Meet Emmanouil Koutsoulaftis, a valued ISC2 Hellenic Chapter member since August 2024 and a Cyber Security Service Manager at ALGOSYSTEMS S.A. With expertise in Incident Response, Vulnerability Management, Security Metrics, Risk Management, and Governance, he is dedicated to designing and delivering impactful cybersecurity solutions.
Currently, Emmanouil is exploring GRC open-source tools like Eramba for ISMS implementation and refining his approach to policies and procedures workflows. His career advice? “Think outside the box, strategically.” A lesson learned from his manager, emphasizing objectivity, innovation, and diverse perspectives.
Beyond cybersecurity, he enjoys online card and MSORPG games, gym workouts, movies, and holiday planning. His philosophy? “The only secure computer is one that’s unplugged, locked in a safe, and buried 20 feet underground.”

What a day… While we were gathered at OTEAcademy for our Board Elections, something incredible was happening elsewhere— ISC2 Hellenic Chapter has been honored with two major awards at this year’s CyberSecurity Awards by BOUSSIAS:

Αγαπητά μέλη του (ISC)² Hellenic Chapter,
Το ΔΣ του Σωματείου συγκαλεί τα μέλη του στην Ετήσια Τακτική Γενική Συνέλευση την Τετάρτη 19 Φεβρουαρίου 2025 και ώρα 19:00 στην OTE Academy, Πέλικα & Σπάρτης 1, 15122 – Μαρούσι, ή σε περίπτωση που δεν επιτευχθεί απαρτία, την Τετάρτη 5 Μαρτίου 2025 την ίδια ώρα και στον ίδιο τόπο. Τα θέματα της Ημερήσιας Διάταξης είναι:
- Εκλογή Προέδρου και Γραμματέα της Γενικής Συνέλευσης.

- Δήλωση υποψηφιότητας μπορούν να υποβάλλουν με έγγραφη αίτηση όσα μέλη πληρούν τις προϋποθέσεις του Άρθρου 8* του καταστατικού (δείτε κατωτέρω στη σημείωση με αστερίσκο), από σήμερα έως και τα μεσάνυχτα της Δευτέρας 9 Φεβρουαρίου 2025προκειμένου να συμπεριληφθούν στον πίνακα υποψηφίων. Όλες οι υποψηφιότητες θα κοινοποιηθούν στα μέλη του Σωματείου. Μπορείτε να δηλώσετε υποψηφιότητα σε αυτήν την σελίδα.
- Η προσέλευση ξεκινά στις 18:30 και η έναρξη της ΓΣ στις 19:00. Οι αρχαιρεσίες θα διεξαχθούν την ίδια ώρα και στον ίδιο τόπο με τη ΓΣ κατά τα προβλεπόμενα στο Καταστατικό.
- Δικαίωμα συμμετοχής και ψήφου έχουν όλα τα μέλη που έχουν τακτοποιήσει τις οικονομικές υποχρεώσεις τους έως την έναρξη της ΓΣ,
Δήλωση συμμετοχής σε Τακτική Γενική Συνέλευση & Εκλογές 2025
δηλαδή έως και την Πέμπτη 19 Φεβρουαρίου 2025 ή 5 Μαρτίου 2025 αντίστοιχα σε περίπτωση επαναληπτικής ΓΣ και ώρα 19:00.
- Στις εκλογές σημειώνετε έως τέσσερεις (4) σταυρούς προτίμησης παραπλεύρως των ονομάτων ισαρίθμων υποψηφίων για το Δ.Σ. και έως τρεις (3) σταυρούς προτίμησης παραπλεύρως των ονομάτων ισαρίθμων υποψηφίων για την Ελεγκτική Επιτροπή με μπλε ή μαύρο στυλό.
Κατά τις εργασίες της ΓΣ, κάθε Μέλος μπορεί να εκπροσωπήσει μέχρι τρία (3) ακόμα μέλη με γραπτή εξουσιοδότηση με θεωρημένο γνήσιο υπογραφής, που θα προσκομίσει κατά την έναρξή της. In the fifth episode of our ECSF series, inspired by the cybersecurity roles defined by ENISA’s European Cybersecurity Skills Framework, we spotlight the role of a Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Consultant!
This time, we feature George Dimitropoulos, a recent graduate from the Department of Informatics and Telematics at Harokopio University of Athens, who shares his aspirations in this exciting field.
Joining us is Eirini Lakiara, Cybersecurity & Privacy Manager at PwC, an experienced professional who answers the burning questions we’ve all been eager to ask.

Dimitris Georgiou on ERT: Tackling Social Media Challenges
📺 Dimitris Georgiou, ISC2 Hellenic Chapter Treasurer, recently contributed to a reportage on ERT S.A. HELLENIC BROADCASTING CORPORATION about protecting children on social media.
🔍 Dimitris analyzed how social media algorithms are designed to monitor user interactions and networks to deliver tailored content. While effective, this practice often results in user profiling, reinforced engagement, and potential addiction, particularly among younger audiences.
✅ Greece is taking steps to address these concerns by:
– Educating parents and children about safe social media use.
– Developing technological tools to enhance online safety.
– Adopting regulatory frameworks at a national level.
